Từ Hà Lan, Bart Lindeboom, giám đốc về tin học hóa và tự động hóa thành phố Ede, sẽ nói về chiến lược các tiêu chuẩn mở của thành phố.

Các nhà ra chính sách CNTT Hàn Quốc cũng sẽ nghiên cứu sử dụng, phát triển và phân phối các giải pháp tự do và nguồn mở của một trong những công ty dược phẩm của Hàn Quốc, Bukwang.

Hàn Quốc đã và đang thúc đẩy sử dụng các giải pháp tự do nguồn mở chục năm qua. Chính bây giờ đang xem xét toàn bộ chính sách 2003 của mình, và ngày càng quan tâm hơn trong sử dụng các máy tính trạm tự do nguồn mở.

Bộ này hy vọng hội thảo kỹ thuật sẽ dẫn tới các hợp đồng tiếp theo với các cơ quan hành chính của châu Âu.

IT strategists working for the French Gendarmerie and the Dutch municipality of Ede will participate in a conference organised by South Korea's Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the National IT Promotion Agency, to be held on 3 June in the capital Seoul.

South Korea is considering expanding its use of free and open source software, and has invited France's Major Stéphane Dumond to present the Gendarmerie's open source migration. From the Netherlands, Bart Lindeboom, director for computerisation and automation in the city of Ede, will talk about the town's open standards strategy.

Korea's IT policy makers will also study the use, development and distribution of free and open source solutions by one of Korea's pharmaceutical companies, Bukwang.

South Korea has been promoting the use of free and open source solutions for over a decade. It is now considering an overhaul of its 2003 policy, and is increasingly interested in the use of free and open source workstations.

The ministry hopes the workshop will lead to further contacts with European public administrations.
