Tradition

The city of Paris is already making many of its ICT solutions available under an open source licence, mayor Missika said. The city is a member of Adullact, the platform for French civil servants working on free and open source software. “Any ICT solutions we develop for our smart city, is and will be shared as open source, using Adullact’s software repository”, deputy mayor said.

Already in 2005 the city release Lutèce, an open source portal solution tailored to public administrations. According to the deputy mayor, the city will continue this open source tradition.

In September last year, the city implemented DansMaRue, similar to Fix My Street, allowing citizens to report potholes, broken sidewalks, graffiti, non-functioning lamp posts, and other problems with the city infrastructure. The Paris software solution is made available to other municipalities.
